This is a vintage hand painted coffee mill. It is made of wood with a copper "bean holder" on top. This has a tag on the bottom that says Made in Holland.

This functional beauty has dovetail construction and a copper top. The copper bin on top is where you pour in the coffee beans, crank the handle a few times and the fresh ground coffee falls into the wooden drawer below. Pull out the drawer and you have fresh ground coffee. The drawer fits very snug due do it's unique construction. When you pull out the drawer and look inside, you will see some bands of spring like steel that hold the drawer snugly in place. Those Dutch really have an eye for detail, beauty and fine craftsmanship.

This great coffee mill stands nine inches tall to the top of the handle. The scalloped edge wood square on the top measure 5 1/2 inches across. This is in EXCELLENT working order.

As you can see from the pictures, there is some paint loss on the edge of the bottom base and a few other very small areas on the edges. These could easily be touched up with some green paint. I thought it best to leave that job to the new owner. The copper bin on top has a great aged patina. I like the look but if so desired, it would look like new with some copper cleaner. There is no damage and looks awesome the way it is. This would be a wonderful item for anyone who likes coffee and would look beautiful in any kitchen.
