Chinese Tang Horse--Porcelain

This is a stylized porcelain Tang horse. These were originally made of terra cotta, very popular during the Tang Dynasty in the seventh century. Often found in tombs and, when colored, decorated in green, red, orange, and white drip glaze. Representations are usually saddled and multicolored. Measures 5 1/2" tall by 5 1/2" long.
