For the lover of poetry, here is an antique book of poems by Percy Bysshe Shelley titled “Shelley’s Poetical Works” published in Philadelphia in 1856 and described as “A new edition, with notes, revised and corrected.” Leather bound with gilt-edged 498 pages, it is in fair condition. All original steel engravings are included. Most still have the original protective sheets. Very difficult to read is the inscription written with pencil on the first black fly leaf to: “James W. Wolfe. With GrandMa’s Wishes for a prosperous and happy New Year. January 1st, 1887.” (Signed: H. Jones?) There are ten illustrations: Revolt of Islam, Julian and Maddalo, Queen Mab, Prometheus Unbound (2), Rosalind and Helen (2), Ginerva, Lady Atlas, and Shelley. See photos for samples. Special bonus is a collection of pressed four-leaf clovers between the pages! Measures 5 1/4 x 7 ˝ and 1 3/4 thick.
