Universal Pottery Accessory Piece "Cattail" Kitchen Scale

This was advertised in the 1940 Sears catalog as an accessory piece to the Universal Pottery, Cat-tail design dinnerware set. It was called the Maid of Honor Kitchen scale, and is made of heavy gauge steel, and weighs items up to 24 lbs. It is in good working order, and has easy adjustment to make constant accuracy possible. It is not legal for use in trade and has a clear plastic dial face. The weighing surface is 6"x6", it stands 6 3/4" tall and the base is 6 1/4" square. It originally was priced in 1940 at $1.79, but then the table and chair set that matched the cat-tail set was only $23.89 for a wood table, 4 chairs and 32 pc. dish set, and a 9pc. set of linens. WOW!.. This scale is in very good condition with only a very minor amount of chipped paint, and some of the cat-tail decal is chipped.
