16.5 Inch Conta & Boehme Rare China Head w/ Pierced Ears

Circa 1860s unusual hairstyle china head made by Conta & Boehme Porcelain Factory,with pierced ears She has a beautiful face with shaded blue eyes and white highlights and outlined irises,black lash lines,red lid lines,eye corner and nostril accents,with slightly smiling mouth ,brush strokes on both sides of face.The hair has clusters of curls on each side up front .The hair is combed back tightly at the temples with an array of brush strokes . The hair is pulled back into large wings on the side of the head and deep rolls in back with a center cluster of deep curls .The head is 4 1/2 inches tall 4 inches shoulder to shoulder, 2 1/4 deep . She is free of chips,cracks,and hairlines 4 minor hair rubs nothing distracting. The antique body has rare Kintzbach hands (see photos). The dress is 1870 - 1890 vintage, cherry red with cherry red pattern. The slip matches. Hand and machine sewn. Condition excellent, free of chips, cracks and hairlines.
