About Us
I have been collecting, then selling dolls and other playthings since the early 1980's. I also dabble in other antiques. I was a doll collector as a child, then I "grew up"!. When my children were nearly grown, I realized that I could play with dolls again - then I met so many other wonderful people with the same love, I said, yes, it's o.k. to play dolls! My grand-daughter has collected some along with me and has helped me at shows. My favorites are antique bisque dolls, German children, especially. My special love are the small all bisque children. I have learned to really like and appreciate the beautiful chinas, parians and early papier mache dolls. Guess if I admit - I just love dolls!
Doll shows and antique shows in New England were my beginning in the doll sales field. Later, I moved to Pennsylvania, where I began working with the former Doll Express in Adamstown. While there I worked helping with their great doll auctions. Have been doing shows for many years now in PA, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida and even a lovely show in London! Have set up at the Gaithersburg doll show and National Doll Festival, near the National Doll Convention. Also, I sometimes help with the the doll and miniature auctions of a local auctioneer. I am a member of N.F.D.C. and the Red Rose Doll Club of Lancaster, PA, a former member of Connecticut's Jenny Lind Doll Club.
To me the important part of selling dolls is representing them honestly and pricing them fairly. I believe in treating people fairly, as I would wish to be treated. I will stand behind what I sell. I try to describe everything to the best of my knowledge. If I make a mistake, please let me know, that is how we all learn. I look forward to "meeting" all my Ruby Lane friends and customers and will do my best for each of you.
