About Us
Savoring the past brings that little smile inside, that memory of playing dolls with a friend, spending a lazy summer afternoon fishing with dad or grandpa or maybe the smell of mom's or grandma's baking. MMM. While the shop has many dolls to bring back childhood memories other items are included that allow us all to savor the past--if only for a few moments.

The Study of Dolls is the Study of Mankind according to Lord McCauley (1800-1859) and this shop is maintained by doll collectors who appreciate and share that sentiment. Mankind used dolls for many purposes. Some dolls were designed as the artistic expression of the "ideal child" of the time be that the 18th, 19th or 20th centuries. Many of the dolls in our shop have had a purpose in society such as fund raising for those in need or they were made by veterans after wars. Still others were designed to be toys, to use up scrap material produced as society industrialized, or as lost leaders to market other products, or even for the purpose of making a profit. The dolls of this shop highlight the many purposes of dolls and their relationship to mankind. The story of dolls with many many examples can be found on my website in the links page.
