These exceptionally beautiful Hand- Painted British landscaped dessert/luncheon plates are from the Minton factory Circa 1800, It would be quite Rare to have one but six! all in mint condition... . they have come to us from a very fine British Estate collection along with a Letter of Provenance..
In the 1800's Thomas Minton started his production of Bone China, this early Minton is regarded as comparable to French Serves, by which it was greatly influenced.
Only small numbers of sets of this quality were produced, as it took many many days to delicately hand color, gilt and fire this fine quality of porcelain.
Each Antique plate, Hand -Painted, bears a fluted gilt edge with a Sevres Style draped blue ribbon that is adorned with large gilt medallions and glorious cabbage roses. At the center a superb hand-painted landscape, each one different, is encircled with a wide Greek key patterned gilded cartouche.
These exceptional and meticulously hand-painted landscapes are the work of the superb Minton artist Henry Mitchell, whose plates are so cherished that an individual plate will sell for 500 lb sterling at auction in London. They are an exceptional treasure for the serious porcelain collector.
Provenance: Gift of the Prince of Wales, King Edward Vll, to Warrant Officer Jack Fraser.of the Irish Guards Regiment. We have in our possession a "LETTER OF PROVENANCE" from the Estate.
