A superb pair of Continental European Portrait Miniatures of a gentleman and a lady from the 19th century,both signed by the same artist but difficult to read.

The portraits are rendered in watercolor under original convex glass encircled in very nicely detailed ormolu, set in period wood frames,..The lady is beautifully dressed in a blue silk dress with wonderfully colored silk ribboning, her hair is auburn and is partially covered with a lovely striped head-shawl, she has wonderful blue eyes and is wearing a lovely red stone necklace...the gentleman is very handsome and is also dressed very well in what appears to be a blue velvet coat with a ruffled open neck shirt . His eyes are also blue with dark curly brown hair and terrific "mutton chops"

They are each beautifully executed,and a pleasure to look at.

Lady's frame size; approx 61/2 " H x 5 1/2" W in dark brown Lady's painting size; 3 1/4 " H x 2 1/2 " W

Man's frame size; 5 1/2 " H x 4 1/2 " W in two shades of brown Man's painting size; 2 1/4 " H x 2" W

Frames show some minor age appropriate wear, but display very well.
