Fabulous Circa 1867 Cranberry Glass with Gilt Dish, Moser

This is a FABULOUSLY beautiful MOSER blown Cranberry glass dish with lovely crimped edges and raised gilt and enamel floral decoration...exquisite!. The edges of this spectacular dish is in a crystal color and the pontil mark is well polished.

Although unmarked, as many pieces of this era unfortunately were, the quality and style of decoration is most consistent with Moser glass, a Bohemian (Czech) art glass maker Circa 1857.

Moser, was an important glass firm in Carlsbad, specialized in raised enameling on colored glass. While Bohemians glass has had many imitators, those poorly executed copies were never faithful to the elegant proportions of the originals, and the workmanship never begins to comes close, for in terms of quality... old Bohemian cutting and engraving can never be equaled....SUPERB!

Condition: EXCELLENT! No chips or cracks..very minor gilt loss, which of course would be consistent with an exquisite piece of this vintage
