This fabulous and very rare Mettlach Punch Bowl with Cover and matching Underplate is called "Gnomes Working at Wine Press and Drinking ", what fun they appear to be having! ...and what a wonderfully beautiful piece for festive holiday entertaining.

A most rare and charming example of German Mettlach Circa 1900. It is historically depicted, in Gary Kirsners' illustrated Metttlach catalog, "The Mettlach Book" on pages 272 & 273... platter number.2339 2698, bowl number.291028 50zvtzt, and the author, Mr.Garry Kirsner has verified this wonderful set as "genuine Mettlach".

This set is in excellent condition and would make a handsome centerpiece for a table, sideboard or for the wine connoisseur to display ..as it is very imposing with it's wonderfully large proportions.
