Circa 1870 Donath Dresden Hand-Painted and Signed Scenic Meissen Style Centerpiece

This exquisite Circa 1870 gilt on white porcelain quatrefoil shaped centerpiece was made by Donath Dresden. Elaborately hand -painted, hand -decorated and signed by the artist, with a heavy application of applied gilding it is a very special work from the Donath workshop.

The centerpiece is enhanced with beautiful gilded cartouche of scenes typical of famous Watteau paintings depicting courting couples in period dress in garden landscapes and exquisitely large florals set on Sevres pink luster glazes. The base of this lovely centerpiece is further enhanced with hand- decorated and hand gilded floral bouquets on it's Sevres pink flared base.

Donath Dresden's porcelain painting studio in Dresden was famous for their elaborate painted wares in the Meissen, Royal Vienna and Sevres style.

This Meissen like centerpiece signed by the artist, is in excellent condition, marked as shown Donath Dresden, Germany, a collector's cabinet "jewel" for their collection.

Condition; excellent with very minor gilt loss.
