This lovely Inuit Eskimo sculpture of a young basking seal from METIQ Belcher Island is numbered to the underside, signed in syallabics by the artist Charlie Eyaituq and has all the Canadian Government's Co-op tags of authenticity accompanying this very special work. .

It is a beautifully and lovingly hand -carved work on a light green colored soapstone. The artist has beautifully captured the gentleness of this young basking seal with it's back flippers extended to one side, oblivious to possible dangers.
