Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen (1874-1960) was a Danish designer, who was trained as a sculptor at the Copenhagen Academy. Jensen worked at Bing and Grondahl for approximately twenty years, and the Norden factory in Copenhagen for eight years, as the artistic director, before starting on his own in 1925. The company continued production until 1981.

Dahl Jensen is well known, and respected for the fine quality porcelain animal figurines they produced. In particular, a wide variety of birds, and dogs, all wonderfully done. The details captured by the artist on this piece, especially the face, are as good as it gets!

This piece is marked on the bottom with the famous Royal Crown and "DJ Copenhagen Denmark" hallmark or logo, and the model #: "1095". Just below the model number is the artists initial or mark, which looks like a "G". This particular model is very hard to find!

This dog measures approximately 5 1/2" tall by 4 1/2" long by 4" wide. Overall, it is in mint condition. Simply awesome! A must have for a true dog collector!
