Beautiful Intricate Antique Jeweled Needlework St. Patrick Religious Saint

Offered here is this beautiful hand crafted antique needlework picture of St. Patrick which dates to the early 19th century, possibly even the 18th century It is worked in needlepoint with petite point for the finer details It's predominantly wool but I believe there is some silk in there also.

The hat, or also called a Bishop's mitre, on Saint Patrick has paste jewels which are prong set. His robe also has prong set jewels on the collar. The staff or also called crozier is created from metal braiding. The detailing in the work that went into creating the staff is wonderful. St. Patrick is standing with a snake wrapped at his feet since he is known for driving the serpents out of Ireland with his staff.

The tapestry measures 23 1/2" X 17 1/2".
