About Us
Welcome Vintage Doll Lovers and Thank you for visiting my shop here at Ruby Lane! My name is Diane Carpino. I specialize in quality antique and vintage dolls and accessories and have 20 years experience in buying and selling. My love of dolls began when I was a little girl in the early 1950's. My Godfather brought me my first Madame Alexander doll one Christmas! It was 1952 hard plastic Alice in Wonderland! In a few short years I became enchanted with Ideal Revlon and Shirley Temple. In the 1980's in my search for these dolls I discovered Ideal Toni and at that point in time began an avid search for them! In 1995 I met Judy Izen and sometime later she began photographing my dolls for her books and magazine articles. An extensive part of my Toni and Shirley Temple collection appear in "IDEAL DOLLS" Third Edition Copyright 2005 by Judith Izen. My Betsy McCall dolls and Mint in Box outfits appear in "AMERICAN CHARACTER DOLLS" Copyright 2004 by Judith Izen. My Toni dolls also appear in the January 2005 issue of Haute Magazine. I am a member of UFDC (United Federation of Doll Clubs) and I co-authored the "TONI'S CLOTHING" Article along with Judith Izen and Peggy Millhouse and that article with photos appear in the UFDC's Winter 2005 DOLL NEWS MAGAZINE. The best part of this whole experience has been with the wonderful doll friendships that have endured over the years!!
