SOLD 1920s Pendant Necklace

This 1920s necklace is very dainty and feminine. The metal throughout is brass with a beautiful patina. The chain is a combination of a chain link and rectangular designed brass bars. The chain ends in a ring with what is more akin to Art Nouveau design than Art Deco with flowing leaves. A shell like pendulum hangs from the bottom of the ring. This gives the appearance of an oyster shell. Where a pearl might be nestled is a round bezel set amethyst art stone. Radiating from the art stone are brass beads creating the look of ridges that might be found on a shell. The shell is surrounded by a lacy fleur-de-lis design. In addition, an intertwining brass design edges its way around the amethyst art stone.

The chain measures 17 1/2" in length; the pendant measures 1 5/8" in width and 2" in length. The shell, the color of brass and amethyst makes this a four season necklace. A sweet, but serious and elegant necklace.
