This is an enchanting 1920’s large and quite unusual locket made of brass with a beautiful patina of an Egyptian Pharaoh-goddess. The locket is on a brass bookchain that also has an exquisite patina. The bookchain has an old spring-style clasp that is in perfect working order. This locket was most likely created right after the opening of King Tutankhamen's tomb in 1922.

The bookchain has a floral design, adding to the special nature of this locket. At the end of the bookchain is the face of and Egyptian Pharaoh-goddess. Her face is finely detailed and very realistic in look. She is wearing large tassel earrings, and there is a highlighted necklace. The most intriguing part of the Egyptian Pharaoh-goddess head is the headdress. At the center is a bird in flight. Wavy hair peaks out from behind the headdress adding to the very specific detailing of this locket. In addition, the locket has a beautiful scalloped edge

Yes, the locket opens. The interesting catch on the locket is in perfect condition. On the inside of the locket there is space for two pictures. There is no longer a protective covering for the pictures, but a protective case can be easily created.

The bookchain is 20” long and is 1/4” wide. The locket is 1 5/8” in width and 1 7/8” in length. The locket can hold two pictures that are each 1 1/8” wide and 1 3/8” wide. This locket and bookchain are extraordinary, unique, and fascinating-- certainly worthy of note as a piece of history. As a piece of jewelry it is striking, as well as very attractive and it certainly will catch the attention of all that see it. It is a piece that can easily become a favorite and an heirloom.

The necklace-chain measures 1/4" in width x 20" in length; has old Spring-style clasp that works great. Pendant measures 1-5/8" x 1-7/8" (width is aprox. 3/4"). Locket opens and closes securely. It can hold two photos size 1-1/8" x 1-3/8".
