1930’s Egyptian Scarab Beetle Pendant Necklace

This is a very unusual 1930’s Egyptian revival necklace, unlike any that I have come across. The brass necklace chain is very detailed; at the end is a fan like triangular white plastic pendant. At the center is a highly detailed etched brass winged-beetle. Much to my surprise, the reverse side of the pendant has an equally refined etching of a brass Egyptian figure of a pharaoh. Falling with a swinging motion from the pendant is a brass pendulum. All the brass has a fabulous antique patina. The necklace has a hook closure.

The necklace chain measures 18”. The pendant 2 5/8” X 3 ¼”. This is an extraordinary piece in excellent condition which includes the white plastic pendant that holds the figures on each side.
