Signed Designer Costume Jewelry, Early and 1930's Art Deco, Beautiful Unsigned Costume Jewelry
This is a superb vintage demi parure, consisting of a necklace and earrings. The necklace and earrings are both endowed with magnificent large aurora borealis rhinestones, givre carved molded glass stones and large teardrop shaped rhinestones that are a remarkable sky blue. All stones are faceted and prong set.
The necklace is furnished with two mesh chains that appear to be rhodium plated. The stones are set in groups to create the necklace’s motif. On the bottom chain there is a large givre carved stone with a sky blue rhinestone to its right, and a small round aurora borealis stone sitting on the lower chain. On the upper chain is a single teardrop shaped blue rhinestone. This stone is set so the bottom is almost touching the aurora borealis rhinestone on the chain below, giving the feel that they are integrated. It is easy when looking at the pattern to forget the upper chain. Looking at the necklace as a whole the two chains are very prominent. This is truly an extraordinary looking necklace.
The earrings have two arched chains. There are two large aurora borealis round rhinestones next to one another. A small aurora borealis rhinestone is on either side. Two givre carved molded glass stones emanate to the right and left of the two large round aurora borealis rhinestones. At the bottom is a single large aurora borealis round rhinestones with small round aurora borealis rhinestones to the right and left.
The necklace measures 17 ¾” in length and is 7/8” in width. The earrings are 1 ¼” long and 1 1/8” in width. This is a extraordinary set; it dazzles, it glows, it shines brightly. One might see a futuristic look as well as a retro one. It doesn’t matter what one sees, what one can’t deny is that this set is astonishing.
