Old Sleepy Eye was a real American Indian. Although, this pottery has been re-produced, this one is an old, authentic piece. The largest of all the pitchers. This has been verified by 3 members of the Old Sleep Eye Association.

This pottery was a give away with flour and it was the largest pottery contract for decades, but was eventually surpassed by Redwing. Monmouth Pottery is still in business in Monmouth, Illinois.

Old Sleepy Eye is on one side, and on the other, three tee pees, trees & a campfire.

This pitcher is not perfect, has a chip under the lip, a few chips on the very bottom and some crazing. It is 8 1/2" tall at the lip and the bottom is 6 3/4" in diameter.
