This is it, why look further? As you may know already, the French made a host of aluminum hall trees during the forties and perhaps even the fifties. Who knows, maybe they started all this in the thirties? Anyway, we're talking that era. This one is the Grandaddy of them all, the best of the best; you see one of these for a hundred of the plainer ones. The others looks quite tame by comparison (read: boring, but functional). I've replaced the mirror on this one, so it's brand new. There are a couple of very minor dents up near the top, on the inside of the outermost elements, not even significant enough to photograph, the "patina of time". Otherwise it is pretty much "perfect," although I hesitate to use that word when describing antiques or things older than ten minutes. The squared tubing and the design of the top are compelling, non? It measures 73 tall, 30 1/2 wide (from hanger to hanger) and 10 1/2 deep. It affixes to the wall via screws through four holes in the tubing (you can see two holes if you look closely on the close-up photo of the top element). If you go into studs, this thing can hold up an elephant. Great in the bathroom, by the way, for towels, whatever, if you have the space. If you want to polish this up, you're welcome to do that -- aluminum can be polished to a chrome-like finish if you want to take it that far.
