Offering a series or group of seven old etchings by the Italian artist A. Manna, scenes of "old world" Italy. Six are on heavy paper, probably rag content; and the seventh, the scene of gondolas in Venice, is on slightly thinner paper which is also differently colored -- less white, more old-yellowed. The quality of the artwork is high as the photos attest; all are signed in pencil on the lower right and five of the seven have "A. Manna" included in the etching on the lower left-hand corner. These photos just show the artwork on each etching; I have other photos showing the entire piece of paper in each case, ask if you want to see them (two examples are provided in these photos). The overall dimensions (approximate, of the entire piece of paper, not just the artwork) in the order they appear are as follow (in inches): 18 x 11; 8 1/2 x 12; 12 1/2 x 9; 18 x 12 1/2; 17 1/2 x 12; 13 3/4 x 10. I know that these were packed up in 1938 and that they were purchased in Italy a few years earlier. I think there's every chance that they're at least 19th century but that's just speculation on my part. They are beautifully rendered, bucolic scenes of a tranquil and balanced world.
