French Art Deco Chandelier, Bronze fittings with Acid-etched Bowl by Daum

It's rare in a chandelier that both metal fittings and glass reach "high art" territory, but in this instance that excellence has, on my humble opinion, been achieved. The metal is all finely cast bronze, with superb artistry and craftsmanship in place, and I've just had it refinished in brushed nickel, then added my special patina so that it doesn't have that "born yesterday" look that, sadly enough, you so often find when antiques have been replated. The glass bowl, nicely signed Daum, has that elegant shape and the free-form acid etched design adds great dimension and interest. The simplicity of the glass counterpoints brilliantly with the complexity of the designs in the metalwork, classic French Art Deco motifs of flowers and geometric embellishments. It's in mint condition. I've rewired it to take one bulb in the center, so that the light spreads evenly through the bowl.
