Simply Superb Large Antique French Opaline Glass Ewer. Dating from the middle of the 19th Century. It is almost definitely Saint Louis according to my reference books although is unsigned, which is not at all unusual for a piece of this period.

Lightly frosted white Opaline with a thick, shiny brilliant blue Serpent formed as the handle with the body coiled around the Ewer.

The two colours together with the two surface finishes (mat and shiny) are designed to complement each other. and they most certainly do they are absolutely stunning.

SIZE: 13 inches high x 6 inches widest. .

No chips, cracks to glass. Gilt decoration to Serpent virtually all rubbed off. A few black specks (tiny) to surface of glass here and there. No cracks or breaks in Blue glass Serpent handle
