Rare and magnificent quality French antique Baccarat Opaline Glass Vase.
Large over size d' opale savonneux vase hand painted in coloured and gold enamels with an exquisite lovers scene after an 18th century painting by Boucher.
A beautiful work of art. The quality of the painting is exceptional.
Signed by Artist. L. Hug (which I am sure is an abbreviation for a much longer name). on actual painting and base of vase. ( D'apres Boucher. l Hug. "LE NID")
Dating from Napoleon Empire III period circa 1840
Rarely available and one of the most beautiful pieces of opaline I have had.
Excellent condition throughout. No damage to glass . No rubbing or losses to painting. Slight rubbing to gilding around base (very minor).
