By far the coolest piece in this set is the very unusual butterfly brooch. Each wing has a centerpiece of the art glass surrounded by feathers of faux hematite navettes. This beauty is 2 ¾” wide by 2” high. The necklace is 16” around and has a drop of 3 ¾” in front. The dangling earrings, which feature the unusual cabochon, are 2” long by 7/8” wide. The five link bracelet is 7 1/2" long by 7/8" wide. In addition to the faux hematite and black diamond rhinestones tiny jet chatons accent the clasp on both ends of the bracelet. The plating is rhodium and shows no wear, the rhinestones sparkle and I don’t see any missing prongs.
Although the art glass stone used in this set is extremely rare the style of this set is a well known D&E design. It has the five link bracelet, fold over clasp, shepherd’s hook, one piece pin assembly and heavy solder, all characteristics of DeLizza & Elster jewelry.
