A choice delightful American Folk Art painting that dates from the beginning of the 19th century. This wonderful little watercolor on paper shows a farmer while holding a staff admiring his large farm.
Likely done by a child of his or hers farm.
On the reverse of the painting the name of Elizabeth Sewell Yorke is inscribed clearly.
There was a Elizabeth Sewell Yorke found to have been born in the year 1767 in Falmouth,Nova Scotia.
She spent most of her life in the state of Rhode Island along with the rest of her family.
The painting itself measures 3 1/2 x 4 1/4" inches with frame 5 x 6 1/8" inches.
A choice piece from a great old Folk Art collection.
