This is a fabulous pair of miniature portrait's of mother and child on ivory signed M.Krantz Dresden,Germany. These beautiful portraits have a soft impressionistic appeal that is distinctive to Krantz. The delicate brushwork create the effect of a painting lost in a dream.The mother and child's features are carefully rendered,with highlights setting off their lovely hair and eyes. Behind the mother's portrait is a lock of golden blonde hair from the child. The paintings are housed in a 3 1/4 x 4 inch oval forest green push button leather case. Each little masterpiece is 2 1/2 x 3 inches of perfection.
