This is a gorgeous English Stourbridge Stevens & Williams blue glass finger bowl with an under plate. Both pieces are acid etched signed with an authentic Stevens and Williams signature mark, dating the bowl and saucer to circa 1902 to 1930.
The under plate or saucer is 6 1/8”. The bowl is 2 3/8” by 5 1/8”.
The glass is very similar to Steuben glass, which shows the Frederick Carder influence. The edges are smooth. The rim of the bowl flares out. The blue shades in intensity.
The pontils are round and ground smooth. In the photos of the marks, I had to put a backer behind the glass, in order for the marks to show, and so in those photos the color of the glass is not accurate. The acid etched and stamped marks are a fleur-de-lis with an S to the left and a W to the right, with England below.
Stevens and Williams acid stamped only their highest quality glass production.
There are air bubbles in both pieces. The saucer has a wavy darker blue line going through the center, from side-to-side. The saucer has a dark spot in the glass. The bowl has some scratches on the inside bottom. There are no chips or cracks.
