Ask about Layaway terms. Look for the special porcelain & glass with bird and butterfly themes.
This is a set of eight English art glass berry or dessert bowls. The date is the 19th century, circa 1890.
The glass is pink over white. The pontil is round and slightly indented with some roughness.
The edges are double crimped and trimmed with a gold line.
The decorations are hand painted and enameled, and thus a bit different on each bowl. There is a butterfly, fruit, nuts and flowers on each dish.
Each dish is about 1 ½ at the highest point, and about 5 Ύ wide.
One bowl has two visible glass edge chips that are visible in photos. A few other bowls have a few rough spots due to pinprick nicks in the glass or how the glass was formed and are not visible in photos, but can be felt with the fingers. There are no other chips or cracks. A few bowls show a some glass dimples in the pink glass.
The set is quite beautiful and would look lovely complementing a fine china set that has pink roses or a pink floral decoration.
