This is a 19th century English Webb small art glass vase. The date is circa 1890.
The bud vase is about 4 1/8” high and about 3” wide at the belly.
The glass is cased, pink over ivory (or creamy white.)
The front is hand painted or enameled in raised relief, showing a flying dragonfly hovering over a large flower and leaves. The enameling is done in white and gray.
The top of the neck has an applied accent of a thin line to match the interior glass.
The bottom is polished smooth, and shows the signature Webb pontil of the interior glass showing through the outer glass.
Some hosts or hostesses use a small vase at each place setting to hold a single flower or a small posy. For those who set a table with antiques, a variety of the small vases is desirable. This is a perfect small vase to use at a place setting in such a situation.
There are no chips or cracks.
