This is a German KPM, Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Berlin, dresser or vanity set. The age is 19th century to early 20th century, circa sometime after 1870.
The hard paste porcelain set is made up of a tray with two attached reticulated holders, a separate pot with lid, and a one piece hat pin holder that has reticulated holes on the top to hold the pins. Therefore, there are four pieces in total. The jar and hat pin holder sit inside the reticulated holders. The set is 9 ½” long, 6 ½” wide and 4 ½” high to the top of the finial.
The tray is oval, with scalloped lobes, with wavy lines in raised relief in the blank. The lobes are shaded a cream color, difficult to see in the photos against the white glaze. The two pots show the same wavy lobes, with the cream color against the white. Gold trim highlights the wavy designs and trims the edges.
There are beautiful hand painted flowers and flying insects painted on the tray and two jars. There is a flying bug on the bottom of each reticulated holder. There are more flowers and butterfly type of insects painted carefully on the lid, around the scroll-like curved finial. The colors used are red, pink, yellow, green, black, brown, blue, purple and violet.
The quality is good, equivalent to Meissen.
There are no chips, cracks or crazing.
Each piece is marked with a blue underglaze scepter, appearing slightly different on all three pieces. The hatpin holder has an incised letter B and the jar has an incised letter U. The tray has a small incised letter U. The blue underglaze mark on the tray has an abrasion in the glaze over the mark.
