Ask about Layaway terms. Look for the special porcelain & glass with bird and butterfly themes.
This is a Dutch Blue Delft plaque.
The plaque is about 19 high and 13 ½ wide.
The material composition is a type of pottery.
The design is rococo, with a molded edge formed in the shapes of scrolls and shell-like designs.
The scene is pastoral, showing a small river or stream running down the middle, and a few cows on the left bank. There are trees and grass. The scene is done in shades of blue.
There is an artists signature on the lower right corner, of J. W. v. Burselem and is most likely part of the transfer.
There are two holes at the top of the plaque with an old hanging wire looped through the holes.
There are no chips, cracks or crazing. There are some areas of light crazing. There are some bumps in the pottery. On the underside, at the bottom, there is a slight abrasion in the pottery and I point to this blemish with a red arrow in one photo.
There is a blue underglaze capital letter D on the underside, along with an incised letter S and the number 1.
