Ask about Layaway terms. Look for the special porcelain & glass with bird and butterfly themes.
This is a French Haviland Limoges chocolate pot. The date is the late 19th century, circa 1888 to 1896.
The blank is Ranson, in the pure all white glaze.
The size is 6 tasse, which is 7 ½” high to the spout, 9 3/8” high to the top of the finial and 5” wide at the bottom.
The Ranson blank has shell-like scallops on the edge. The body is slightly lobed. The finial is the vine final, which is a looped handle of a vine or branch that trails down over the dome of the lid.
There are no chips, cracks or crazing. There is a small area of discoloration in the glaze, near the bottom on one side, which I show in one photo.
The green underglaze mark is H&Co L France.
The chocolate pot is from the estate of Jonathan Steele.
