This is a French or Bohemian glass bowl, late 19th century to early 20th century, circa 1900.

The bowl has beautifully detailed reverse painted strawberries around the bottom, painted in layers on the outside, so as to show through the clear glass on the inside. The berries are red, with dots of gold to depict the seeds of the berries. The green leaves are painted with gold also, and curl up around the bottom of each strawberry and between the berries. The shape of the berries is cut into the bowl, and you can see the round indentations on the outer side. The leaves that curl up on the bottom of each berry, you can see where those leaves are cut into the glass on the outer side also.

The bottom of the bowl has a medallion of leaves and gold flowers. Again, the shape is cut into the glass on the bottom side, and then reverse painted by the artist.

Around the top there are more leaves, flowers, circles, and so on, cut into the glass on the outer side and reverse painted in green and gold enamel.

The top edge is scalloped. The top is polished flat. Each side is slightly beveled, or chamfered, which is actually an attribute of Moser, but which I have seen also on Baccarat and a few other French glass companies of the crystal region near Patin.

The bowl is 2 ¾” high and 7 ½” wide.

There are no chips, cracks or crazing. There are a few tiny areas of minor roughness along the rim, which might be tiny pinprick nicks. There is wear to the color of the medallion on the bottom and the decorations around the top, perhaps 20% wear. The color of the strawberry border is 99% intact. The gold trim on the rim is 98% intact.
