030308-4/RL-287 This is an early 20th century English Royal Doulton large commode, chamber pot or slop pail. The age is circa 1902 to 1910. The Doulton catalog of 1894 refers to the item as a “slop pail” and the pattern series is known as “Dutch Harlem.” The slop pail has two pieces with an attached braided wicker handle. 375/RL-18 This is a Rookwood American art pottery letter holder, dating to 1956. The letter holder is 3 1/8” high, 4” long and 2 ½” wide. The shape is rectangular, with a partition in the middle to hold two sets of envelopes. The glaze is blue or a blue-gray. The inside of the holder is a lighter shade of the glaze. The front has a design of the original American five cent stamp, with the date 1847, and the words “ The First US Postage Stamp.” There are no chips or cracks.
