Tootsie Toy Dollhouse Built-In Bathtub – Black & Cream 1930s 1/2" Scale

Hard to find Tootsie Toy dollhouse built-in bathtub in the rare black and cream color combination is from the 1930s. It is made in two parts. The outside, which is painted with black enamel, has a subway tile pattern on the front and one side. The other side and back are plain and the tub is made to fit into the corner of the bathroom. The inside is painted off white and comes complete with a gilt faucet. It measures 1 1/8” t x 1 1/2” w x 3 1/2” d and is marked “Tootsie Toy”. It is in excellent condition with just a tiny bit of paint loss.

Manufactured by the Chicago based Dowst Brothers firm from 1922 to 1937, Tootsie Toy furniture is made of cast metal in 1/2” scale. The colorfully enameled furniture followed popular furniture styles of the 1920s and 30s.
