Sought after Little Black Sambo is a Tell-a-Tale book published by Whitman Publishing Co. in Racine, Wisconsin in 1959 and illustrated by Violet LaMont. Attractive full color cover features Little Black Sambo as a little boy from India. He is wearing a red nehru jacket with blue pants and purple and red upturned slippers. A black bird is perched on his outstretched hand.

The back cover features a border of farm and circus animals with a list of Tell-a-Tale books starting with Circus Alphabet and ending with Peter Potamus. It has the number 2661 printed on the bottom right hand corner.

Inside, the 28 pages are clean and bright and printed in full color. The title page has a birthday inscription written in pen. The story features Indian looking parents and market vendors, wonderful jungle creatures, tropical scenery and fierce looking tigers.

The book measures 6 3/8" t x 5 5/8" w and is in excellent condition with just slight wear to the edges.
