This post card has been issued by Ross Verlag in Berlin. It shows thy young Corda in attractive Art Deco dress. Unused postcard in fine condition.

The actress Maria Corda was born in Hungary. She has been married to the film director Alexander Korda (1893-1956), she took part in numerous of his movies and became a darling of movie fans. Her most famous roles we in "Samson und Delila", "Das unbekannte Morgen" , "Jedermanns Frau", "Die Sklavenkönigin", "Madame wünscht keine Kinder”, "The Private Life of Helen of Troy" . Her popularity was so big that Austrian investors refused their grant for the movie "Die letzten Tage von Pompeji” if the leading part wouldn't be recasted with Maria Corda - what finally happened.

Still the formerly celebrated actress fell into oblivion. With the sound film has her career finished and she was soon oust from her position by the following players.
