Vintage Miriam Haskell choker-length necklace features iridescent glass beads with clear and brass spacer beads between them. The semi-translucent beads (the size of small marbles at 3/8”) are a lovely, almost-impossible-to-describe shade somewhere between water and milk, swirled with ever-changing pink and green lights. Measuring 16” long, the necklace closes with a round box clasp topped with hematite rhinestone accents, and is signed “Miriam Haskell” on the oval cartouche on the back. Condition is near-excellent, with characteristic darkening of the brass spacer beads.

Matching bonus handwired clipback earrings measure 1” and feature an iridescent-coated white bead surrounded by milk glass beads which alternate with rings of pale mint seed beads. Filigree backs are signed “Miriam Haskell”. Though I am including these earrings to complete the demi, purchase price is for the necklace only, as the earrings will need need some TLC before wearing. The issue is that the wire threaded through the rings of green seed beads and the milk glass beads is quite delicate and even missing in spots. The former owner had reinforced the wiring with glue, which has left traces of residue on several of the milk glass beads though I have mostly cleaned it away; one bead completely separated during cleaning, and I will leave it up to the new owner whether to reglue or rewire.

According to Cathy Gordon, author of “Miriam Haskell Jewelry”, the tipped findings on the necklace clasp date this set to the mid-70s.
