The subtle palette of this sumptuous vintage 80s satin brocade road features cranes, perched songbirds, and chrysanthemums in pink, turquoise, pale mint green, black, and white on a silvery grey ground. The lapelled collar has an overstitched scrolling design, which is repeated on the slant pockets and cuffs. Echoing the brocaded chrysanthemums, the two frogs that fasten the robes are intricately folded into flower-like shapes. Lined in silver-blue satin, the robe has gently padded shoulders and an inner loop and tie for adjustable, secure fit, in addition to a self-fabric sash belt.

Labelled “Made in Hong Kong” and tagged a size 40. No fabric content; appears to be rayon. Measurements are: Bust to 40”, shoulders 15.5”, waist to 36”, hips to 42”, sleeves 23”, and length 54”. Very good to excellent condition, little or never worn; only issue is faint yellow discoloration to fabric underneath frog buttons (see photo #8).
