Hold-to-the-Light Trade Card

Hood's Vegetable Pills Trade Card. It is also a "Hold-to-the-Light" card. To reveal the secret message on the front (written in the stars) you have to hold this card in front of a light to see what it spells. Their were several types of puzzle cards from this era and this type was called "Hold-to-the-Light Card." Back of card is advertising in blue ink. Only one small place near very bottom with paper loss. Discoloration is from glue. Still has a small amount of glue on card. Lower right corner has small bend. Otherwise this card is in wonderful condition. From an album from Connecticut dated 1885. C.I. Hood & Company were from Lowell, Mass. Measures: 5-1/4" wide x 3-5/8" high.
