Original circa 1962 fine art print on water color paper of Andrew Wyeth's 1953 water color and dry brush painting "The Corner". The subject matter is the remains of Mother Archie's Church at the corner of Ring and Bullock Roads in Chadds Ford, PA. The original painting is owned by the Wilmington Society of Fine Arts in Delaware.
This fine print was published by the Art in America in 1962 as one of twelve different images reproduced for the "Four Seasons Portfolio". We are told by a gallery specializing in Wyeth prints that this is the only authorized print publication of this work, but the number of prints published is unknown.
The image measuring 13" x 8 1/2" is printed on high quality water color paper stock. Including matting and framed, it measures 18" x 14". The print is in the same frame and condition as sold by the Wiley Gallery of Hartford, CT in 1962-1963. Rematting and minor restoration would only enhance the value of this hard to find, high quality Wyeth print.
