Circa 1915 vintage hand colored Wallace Nutting (1861-1941)photograph of birch tree, lake and "purple hills" in the background in lovely black frame with silver painted leaf decorative corner trim.

"Purple Hills" title and and Wallace Nutting signature are handwritten in pencil on matting below photograph. Guaranteed to be an authentic Wallace Nutting.

Photo measures 15" high x 9-1/4" wide matted and framed. Photo alone is 9-1/2" high x 4" wide.

Vintage photo has been reset in acid free over- matting and original frame reconditioned.

Nutting began photographing rural New England in 1905 and incorporated his photography business in 1906.
