Exceptional summer Alpine mountain valley view photograph from Germany circa 1915 with very sharp, distinct image of small Alpine cottage and garden in the foreground. Inscription in pencil on back appears to be either “Blinn lis alps” or “Glinn lis alps”. Postcards purchased with this photo suggest a 1913-1916 timeframe and Bavarian Alps view. Vintage 1/6 plate daguerreotype of elderly woman in untied white bonnet (circa 1850s) in wonderful floral design leather covered case. Interior is near pristine with gold matting & trim; and red velvet front. Back spine has separated. Two front clasps are intact & in good repair. Size of case is 3-5/8" by 3-1/8" ; the daguerreotype is some what smaller. I am told the spots on are on the front glass, which can be replaced for under $50.
