Rare early Shaker large 5 finger oval box with reverse finger cover has traces of original red paint. Reverse finger boxes usually are associated with the Harvard Community; however this one is Sabbathday Lake circa 1840. Measures 12-3/8" diameter x 5" high. Boxes of this size were usually for personal use; rather than for sale to the world. Over the years, there has been some finish lost on the cover. Vintage authentic Shaker 15" pantry box with cover from Sabbathday Lake Community in Maine. Features swing handle mounted on mushroom cap wooden peg posts. Box and cover measures 8-1/2" high without the handle extended. Lovely patina on the original red finish. Authentic vintage Shaker candlestand of butternut and maple (24-1/4" high) comes from the Watervliet New York community circa1840-1850, and features classic Shaker craftsmanship. Two-board top is 17-1/4" in diameter; splined and screwed into a round disk on a turned shaft over four snake legs. Purchased at private auction of all Shaker items held at the Shaker Village Museum in Hancock MA. A wonderful piece of authentic Shaker furniture.

Rare complete set of authentic vintage Shaker hand-crafted dry measures that sit inside each other (or "nest") for easy storage. Each is stenciled on the front with with the logo for the Shaker Society, Sabbathday Lake, Maine, and are very old - probably mid-19th century. Nonetheless, they are in wonderful condition for their age - and the patina is extraordinary.
