Dating to the late 1800's, the figurine is made in the style of Delft figurines. The boy has what looks like a Prussian eagle design on his shirt. He is carrying a flag on his shoulder. The flag had been painted to represent an American flag however paint is worn. Not sure if it was a figurine made with a white flag and someone painted it with the American flag or if it was actually made for export and someone figured one eagle was a good as another.
The figurine measures 8 3/4" tall and is in great condition but does have the paint wear to flag and what looks to be chip on bottom corner of flag. It does look like it has been glazed over though.
No marks as to maker. Bottom of figurine has what looks to be pooled glaze.
Really a neat figurine or statue.
