Chocolate Carmel Slag Glass Westmorland Mold #78 Bulldog Doorstop

This wonderful solid glass doorstop or figure was produced using the Westmoreland mold #78. Originally produced in the 1930's by Westmoreland, it was then produced by Summit Glass for Rosso (limited production), and later (and presently) produced by the Mosser glass company ( also limited production). I was told by the previous owner he purchased it quite a while ago and there was only 6 made. He could not remember the name of the Company. This one has no marks. I was told by a fellow Ebayer that this one was produced by Summit probably in the early 1990's. I have searched the net for days and not found another made in the chocolate glass (aka caramel slag) although I have found several other colors. This one seems so much nicer, I guess do to his coloration which is great. I would definitely classify him as older and rare!

He measures 6" tall and approx. 4 1/4" wide and weighs a bit over 6 pounds. A solid piece of glass.

Excellent condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. Does have some straw marks as is common with glass. Comes with his original leather collar. Has gorgeous glass eyes.

Really a wonderful piece for the chocolate glass, Westmoreland or Bulldog collector.
