About Us
After dealing in antiques and collectibles for over a decade, I began collecting Czech crystal necklaces when I fell in love with my grandmother's heirloom strand from the 1930s. During my buying excursions to auctions and estate sales, I hunted for more and more to add to my ever growing collection. Many were filthy and in need of a good bath; others were broken or damaged in some way, and I would rescue even these orphans. My box of damaged strands and loose beads grew enormous.

One day, as I was adjusting a necklace of amber crystals hanging from my neck, it broke and the beads spilled all over. As I crawled along the floor picking them all up one by one, I knew this necklace was too special to go unrepaired. The next day I drove to the local beading store to get info on restringing them, never intending to start another venture. That was the beginning of my addiction to restringing old beads into new creations, and this business, "Crystopia", is the result.

My creations are usually a combination of old and new beads, both crystal and glass, as well as metal. I just like to make a modern, stylish new piece from the old, higher-quality beads and crystals from days gone by, but the addition of new beads adds that contemporary flair.

I will offer my Ruby Lane customers the best of my untouched vintage and antique jewelry finds that are in excellent condition. I will also offer a nice antique piece of glass, pottery, or porcelain - perhaps even a cool collectible vanity item or linen that I think you might love. I will only offer the best on Ruby Lane, and send the rest to on-line auction.
